SOLD-Briney Lad is a very handsome and athletic, dark bay, 2005 gelding. He is 16.2 hands and has LOTS of charisma and charm. Briney Lad is by Salt Lake and out of Snow County Honey and has a fantastic pedigree. He is grand son to Deputy Minister and has Northern Dancer, Foolish Pleasure and Bold Ruler in his blood lines. Briney Lad has earned $146,000 at the track and is ready for retirement and a new career.  He last raced in 2012 and sustained a minor injury to his sesamoid. The vet recommends 6 months of rest and relaxation. There is no heat in the leg and he walks pretty comfortably on it. He does not have to be stall bound and can be turned out in a small paddock for daily exercise. Briney Lad is expected to make a full recovery and after 6 months can be re-evaluated for future career options. His trainer says he is a very calm horse with a great mind and personality. This was evident when we took him out for pictures and video on a race day. He stood there calm, cool and collected and did not spook at all. Briney Lad is a very intelligent horse that really wants to please. His trainer says he is  gentle, kind and an out of your pocket kind of horse that has no vices. He trailers well, loves to be groomed and stands great for the farrier. So far he has been an excellent patient and would be an easy keeper. His trainer says that he has wonderful movement with a nice big stride and would be a hit in the show ring. He also has a gorgeous tail. We think that Briney Lad would be an excellent candidate for show and possibly dressage once he heals. He would also make for a very nice pleasure/trail horse. He just needs someone with the time and patience to give him some time off and attention until he fully recovers from his injury.
