Sweet RiddleSweet Riddle’s successful racing career ended when he suffered a bowed tendon at 7 years old. After recovery from surgery (thank you MSU!!), and time with a dressage rider, he and my 9 yr old daughter Shelby fell in love at first sight. He was a big boy at 16.3” but she sensed correctly that he would always take care of her, and like his name suggests, his greatest attribute was his sweet personality and strong desire to please. For the next 3 yrs, they competed in the Hunter/Jumper circuit and when he was up for sale, Riddle even tried eventing. At his first event (Beginner Novice), he placed 2nd and at his second event (Novice) he placed 4th! Shelby has moved on to another CANTER horse, but Riddle will always have a special place in our hearts as the Big Guy with the heart of gold. He is now owned by a friend and stabled 5 miles away where we can visit from time to time. Shelby and I are so pleased that he is spoiled rotten as he continues to win over everyone who meets him.” Last Updated (Wednesday, 25 May 2011 10:40) |
