If
you are interested in any CANTER Owned horse, you MUST fill
out an approved buyer form and be qualified before we can consider placing a horse with you. 3. If you are considering purchasing a CANTER-owned or special placement horse, we urge you to consider a pre-purchase exam (at your expense). While we make every effort to disclose the physical condition, and past injury history of all horses we are placing, we cannot guarantee that there are not undiagnosed issues. If you are seeking to purchase a horse with the intention of jumping the animal (or using the horse for more strenuous work,) you are required to have a veterinary check done at your expense to ensure that the horse is going to be suitable for your needs. 4. All CANTER-Owned horses are placed in homes where they will have at least one other equine companion; they are herd animals and need to be able to socialize. 5. All CANTER-Owner horses are placed with a lifetime Bill of Sale. This does not restrict you from reselling the horse under certain conditions, but it does require that you inform CANTER of your intention to sell, and gives CANTER the first right of refusal. Under NO circumstances may the horse be sold for use for racing, or as a racing broodmare. If you sell the horse and CANTER does not exercise its right of first refusal, it is your obligation to make the new owner aware that they are buying a horse with a lifetime restriction on it. 6. Please consider your circumstances and your level of commitment before applying to purchase a CANTER-Owned horse. The upkeep of a horse is a major commitment, both financially and logistically. If you are unsure about your desire to have a horse for the long-term, purchase of a CANTER-Owned horse may not be a suitable option. |
