What track do you serve, and are there vets there to do pre-purchase exams on horses?
We serve Thistledown Racetrack near Cleveland and Beulah Park near Columbus Ohio. There are a number of vets right on the track with x-ray machines for instant results. See Track Information.

What days and times are best to see horses at the track?
Both tracks are open for training during racing season between 7-10 AM. You must have a visitor's pass to enter the backside. You can obtain a pass by calling the trainer listed for the horse on our Horses For Sale page. We recommend that you go on days that horses race. Volunteers are available on Saturday mornings between 8-10 AM if you would like an escort. E-mail Us if you require this service.

What is the difference between the horses owned by CANTER and the horses listed with contacts on the Horses for Sale page?

CANTER-owned horses are different because they have been donated by their owners / trainers to our organization, or we have purchased them because they were at risk of going to an auction. All the funds generated by selling these horses help purchase and care for more horses at risk.

How do I arrange to see a CANTER-owned horse for sale?
Please visit our CANTER listings and call the person indicated on the listing. Please remember that you must fill out an
Adoption Form for these horses.

What transportation services are available to ship my horse home?
We have a number of recommended carriers. Visit our Track Information Page.

Where can I find a hotel close to the horses?

Visit our Track Information Page.

I have some extra horse supplies. How do I donate them?
We always need supplies! Contact Chris at 614-266-3975 or 614-447-9516.
